I work on projects across East Sussex, from extensions and conversions to commercial and heritage schemes. Much of the county lies within the High Weald National Landscape (formerly an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), so the design and planning approach needs care from the outset.
How I work in East Sussex
I check the district local plan, any National Landscape or other landscape constraints, and the relevant permitted development rules before developing a design. In a heritage setting I treat the historic fabric as part of the design rather than a constraint to work around.
Selected projects in East Sussex
- Regularising the division of a listed farmhouse, in the Rother district within the High Weald National Landscape.
- Extending a cafe on a country estate, in the Wealden district within the High Weald National Landscape.
