This is a charming holiday apartment in the heart of Cascais, a beautiful coastal town west of Lisbon, surrounded by impressive seascapes, heritage architecture and cobbled streets.
It was a privilege to be asked by a returning client to help reconfigure the internal layout of the apartment, which had become tired and unloved.
I worked on the design of the internal layout from the UK, with support from a local contractor and architect on the ground. The key move was to form a new mezzanine floor, opening the apartment up and respecting the architecture of the existing building.
The reconfiguration created a spacious four-bedroom residence, with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room and the new mezzanine arranged to make the most of the stunning sea views.
The works are complete, and the result is a transformed home that belongs to its coastal setting. It is a project I look forward to revisiting.
