Accessibility statement

CU Architects wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. Meeting a recognised standard is the most reliable way to make the site work well for people who use assistive technology.

What we do

  • We use clear headings, readable text sizes and colour contrast that meets the AA threshold.
  • Images carry text alternatives so screen reader users know what each image shows.
  • The site works without a mouse and is built to reflow on small screens.

Plans and drawings

Architectural plans and floor drawings are visual by nature, which can make them hard to interpret with a screen reader. To address this, each plan or drawing in a project gallery can carry a written description alongside it, shown in an expandable “Text description of this drawing” panel. This gives a text route to the same information and reflects the reasonable adjustment principle in the Equality Act 2010.

If you find a drawing without a useful description, please tell us through the contact page and we will add one.

If something does not work for you

We are still building this site and some areas may fall short. If you have trouble using any part of it, or you need information in a different format, please get in touch through the contact page and we will do our best to help.
